In the armored car robbery, Neil’s crew steals an envelope of bearer bonds. However, this does not appear to keep him from honouring his crew's decisions concerning their own relationships, at one point trying to help Chris with his marital difficulties by encouraging his wife to stay with him. Keanu Reeves was originally signed to play Chris Shiherlis, but Mann wanted Val Kilmer and Reeves lost the role when Kilmer's Batman Forever schedule opened up.
