Has anyone got OP email ? First off when driving highways speeds, it does a regen about every 125-150 miles.
It kind of sounds like it's asking for a manual regen (I'm not as proficient with Isuzu). Can anyone look at this problem and offer suggestions? So there are two different catalysts on here.
I have a 2012 npr200 which began the auto regen process as I was driving..
We're using the right oil. With the new filter, it began irregular burns. Hand over exhaust , not hot , not working. Codes causing to default after 2 block of driving. I pulled over and thought may as well do it manually as I’ll be stationed for an hour or so.. Regen bars are still full and nothing has been done. Also get them to smoke test the intake between the turbo and the engine (the pressure side). 110. please provide f. You've probably been forced to pull your truck over for a manual regeneration and possibly even experienced a severe derate rendering your truck useless and forcing a trip to the dealer.
Just an update, Turns out someone put diesel in the def tank, needed full cleaning and new catalytic converter.
com'da! The mess hadn't been helped by home maintenance with cheap oil, but the mix of blow-by, EGR and extendedchange intervals had left the intake plenum with a sectional area of 4 square centimetres at the head interface instead of the normal 12. It's all good to have a process that works well with new engines, but the process needs to produce consistent results as these engines age. At 400,000k the DPD filter was replaced and it continued well.
My Chev which takes adblu kept putting messages about the quality of the product up and I could notget rid of it so as Performax and Isuzu are linked back up to ballarat where they could not fix it (I paid 1.500) then they wanted another 1200 for two nox sensors at that point I bit the bullet as it was obvious that ISUZU did not know how to fix the problem and throwing expensive parts at it was no guarnatee it was fixed .In the end I got the car chipped o.k.
I could kick myself. Upstream and downstream sensors replaced as well as the filter cleaned.
Part of the problem is filtering soot and ash, soot is relatively easier to remove through regeneration (burn it off) but the left over ash isn't, it's non-combustible.
If a few workshops have already had a go at fixing it, the basics have already been checked. First time the manual burn has come on , tried manual burn for 1 hour, did not work.
All well and good to do a delete until it gets a love note from the RMS for a pit and emissions inspecton, Hello, just wondering if you found out the cause of problem as this is happening to us now. yet we still continue to have problems.
Thank you,
All the computer diagnostics have been run twice at a major Isuzu service centre with no answers coming out of that. The irregular burns continued. but how would you like a tube out your ass back into your mouth? One of the problems with DPF is that when the engineis new, the DPF is filtering pretty much only soot fromthe engine, which can then be purged through theregen process.
If the ECU has a bad earth or ground at one earth point it may not affect normal drive but may affect other electronic components such as dpd pressure sensor causing the voltage to be out and cause the sensor to read incorrect and give the ecu a bad reading. I cannot find the source of high idle. I was called for a bus that wouldn't start last summer. Firstly, it's very difficult to diagnose a problem like this remotely. Isuzu NPR 5. It had been burning at the 300km mark for every burn (the maximum it will go before burning, indicating it may not have been functioning properly and was just defaulting to the maximum kilometre burn rather than burning when necessary).
Three different Isuzu …
Installed OE turbocharger and replaced map sensor (I broke the original taking it out to clean) No vacuum leaks detected. 2011 Isuzu NPR red exhaust light light, amber regen light blinking, engine derate light on, no codes, exhaust differential is at 0.02 psi.
You are using an out of date browser.
There are DPF cleaning services if you search around- https://www.dpfregen.com.au/diesel-truck-dpf-cleaning-sydney/and you have to do a bit of homework on maintaining your DPF-http://www.oilem.com/dpf-cleaners-and-dpf-cleaning/and no doubt cleaning machine technology is advancing with the size of the problem. "https://www.neerabupdiesel.com.au/isuzu-dpd-dpf-problems%ef%bb%bf/another number you might ring-http://www.goldfieldsmc.com.au/Files/Other/Isuzu%20DPD%20Repair.pdf, and here's some lowdown on what Isuzu have to advise-http://www.worldsweeper.com/FleetManagement/IsuzuDPF_Part2_5.14.htmlhttps://www.busbeetruckparts.com/blog/isuzu-dpf-system-diesel-particulate-filter-npr-nqr-nrr-commercial-trucks. The service centre who replaced the filter thought it was a sensor problem, so that was replaced.
I have an 2008 NPS 300 4X4 with just 124,000 odd Km's with DPF/DPD problems.
Driver got a little offended with me.
It's at 800,000k now and the DPD filter had soot on the exit side so needed to be replaced. Nice but as you say not quite legal mine apparently is legal but all the equipment is still there as its too hard to take it all out apparently .
Err, no thanks, though it sounds like a weight loss method that might actually work;D. I recently saw the absolute bomb crater of an inlet system on a turbodiesel Prado with 300,000k's on it.
Here we go again, $$$$$ Have you gone to Isuzu Australia over the dealers head? Hello, we are having the same prob...do you know the original posters email thanks?
But lots of known issues that independent mechanics would of come across. But I am stumped, my local Isuzu "lead tech" is stumped. Need to see if they found the reason for it..dont want to spend thousands on guessesThanyou Debbie, Hi, can you see the original poster email....I would like to email them to see if they resolved probThankyou.
Even something like a loose terminal pin causing high resistance and causing a bad reading as wel.
