@nomadsludge just to confirm, you do not have any 3rd party routers/switches attached to your modem? I am assuming that the Arris XB6 probably doesn't support L2TP passthrough and PPTP passthrough. Have been on the phone for the last hour and the tech is telling me they "Don't do DNS stuff" It seems the only way to get around this is to use BlueCurve in Bridge mode, and buy a 3rd party router. after more than 100 hours of working with our IT guys and waiting for Shaw tech support multiple times for their investigations, we all decided that the problem was the Shaw Modem ArrisSBG6782 firmware. I have used shaw with Hitron modem before, it worked fine. This excitement was short lived though as it still continued to timeout.

Do I understand correctly that Shaw is not allowing a rem... an IP-address (on the Shaw network) for the router to use for a while; the "network-mask" (to define which IP-addresses are on your local network (compare to you in your house talking face-to-face -- without any "hardware" -- to somebody inside your house, compared to upi needing to use a "gateway" (e.g., telephone, FaceTime, Skype) to talk to somebody NOT inside your house); the IP-address of that "gateway" computer from your local network to the Internet; the number of minutes that you are allowed to use the IP-address in #1, above -- the duration of the "lease".

I've been talking to tech support for over a week on and off, and all they have left to suggest now is that I plug into the coax outlet that my TV is using. Having a VPN client's connection rejected is perhaps the most common VPN problem.

The VPN Passthrough is not happening. I have enough personal difficulty with the idea of letting some third party service guy from Telus show up at my door. My internet plan is for 50Mbps of which I get roughly 48Mbps on speedtest.net while connected via UDP or TCP VPN to Canadian/USA servers or any countries for that matter i'm locked at 3.5Mbps consistently some times 4Mbps. EDIT:  June 25, 2018 - After receiving a Teksavvy modem and testing the internet speed, I have observed a new all time high of 120 Mbps. I have talked to my ISP Teksavvy who in turn talked to Bell and both 'Claimed' that they do not do traffic shaping. I suspect Shaw is using a slightly modified firmware that Xfinity in the US is using.

I utilize a couple of VPN clients without any issues. My Daughter was also having the same problem with her work just trying to remotely communicate with her PC using some of the shareware. The second round of testing will be more technical and performed externally while our partners conduct more specific SSL inspections and SEP reporting surveys on the installed and (Connected Client) which is why it is very important to me that I can resolve the connection issue quickly. If I connect to the Netherlands, the speed test results in some where between 19-25 Mbps.

I am also a customer of Shaw in 2018. If I read your statement, you are saying that remote employees must have a Business Account in order to be able to work remotely?
