I expected to play normally. According to the Dolphin wiki, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn works perfectly on every build from Dolphin 2.0 to the newest build-bot releases, inclusive. Then, hold shift and right-click on the background in the folder, and click "Open command window here" (this option will only appear if you have unzipped it to another folder). Seriously, there are buttons at the top of the emulator, "config", "graphics".
Also note that in each case, the name length must less than 4, 8,12, or 16 characters, ie: usage of 8 spaces requires a name of 7 characters or less, or 12 spaces requires 11 or less, etc. The game will skip the promotion part if you actually watch the scenes and jump to Ike saying "We're Ready". Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? EFB to Ram, change graphics backends, just change settings and keep track, if something fixes it write it down.
